Pull up a chair and SITS right down!

{too cheesy?}
How to Blog
Hello everyone! Today is my SITS day, which really couldn’t come at a lovelier time because it is my SECOND Blogaversary!!! (And also that pesky pre-term labor bedrest stuff….but let’s not talk about that right now!) If you don’t know what SITS is, get on over there and check it out, you won’t be sorry!

Welcome my SITSTAS! Thank you so much for clicking over here today to check out my little corner of the old interwebz. I’m thrilled to have you, I’ve so enjoyed visiting all of the blogs featured at SITS since I joined and I can’t believe my day is here!
Some quick facts about me and mine:

We live with my inlaws. I KNOW!
this actually works really well for us…truly.
I’m a vegetarian
I’m obsessed with decor blogs, I LOVE to re-do furniture
I was a professional actress before my son arrived and we moved from LA to Ohio and then to DC.
My hubs and I met playing brother & sister in a play….eeeeew!
I still work from time to time, last year I pretended I was Mariska Hargitay on an episode of America’s Most Wanted.
You can see some of my commercials HERE
I really need to upload some more things to that, but I’m easily distracted!
I’m obsessed with TARGET, if I were a bazillionare, Target would still be my first stop for just about everything.
I like to make lists
I…abuse…ellipses….
I try not to have typos, but I always do. My apologies!

Some starting points:

If you’re wondering who is reading your blog

The Ballad of the Four Dollar Bra

Where I am almost shot…or at least arrested.

I sometimes forget Tori Spelling isn’t my real life friend.

And a few that showcase how obsessed I am with my son…I’ll need an AA program when he goes to college. I fear for his future girlfriends. I need to get over myself. {Baby2ElectricBoogaloo is also a BOY…so another obsessionย for ME!}

ย These explain The Boss in a nutshell:

Precocious, non?

Obsessions begin early. I love the video in this one!

I am still traumatized by this…(and will possibly tell his prom date all about it!)

Lessons Learned.

The Sweetest Hour

Oh I could go on and on and on but I won’t. Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy lives to stop by and say hello…I appreciate it.

  1. Have a great SITS Day! Hope your day is filled with a whole lotta comment love. You must be superwoman – if I had to live with my in-laws I’d crack like a nut…lol.

    Peace. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. Happy SITS day! Sorry about the bed rest. I did that with my last two pregnancies and it is not fun or relaxing, contrary to what many think and all of the annoying comments you will get.
BTW, I love your dress in that pic on SITS! Best of luck for the rest of your pregnancy, off to read around your blog.

  3. Congratulations on your SITS day. I hope it’s everything you’ve been wishing for.

I went into early labor with four of my five kids. I was lucky that we were able to stop it each time. But as only one who has been then can say — bedrest SUCKS! So do all the meds they put you on to keep it from happening again. I hope you aren’t too miserable. You do have a big advantage that I didn’t have. You have the internet. My kids are 12-20 so even though the internet started during that time, it wasn’t what it is now. There was no connecting to many other people while lying in bed. There were no blogs. I’m a little jealous.

Best wishes that the rest of your pregnancy is uneventful.

  4. Happy SITS day!! I lived with my inlaws for awhile. It was good. I love my inlaws! ๐Ÿ™‚ But you know, two grown women sharing a kitchen, no matter how much they like each other, can be very difficult!!

    • Tell me about it! The biggest problem we have is that I really, really, really, really like to decorate and play house and re-do things….and since this is not my house, I have to curb that impulse and it is HARD.

  5. Happy SITS Day!!! So loved watching your commercials…..really cool. Love the one where you sneezed into the sand!! Nice to find you through SITS…I LOVE SITS!!! Take care in the rest of your pregnancy and hang in there. I know it must be tough to be on bedrest:-)

  6. Your site is just precious!! Congrats on your day!!!!! I love all your “new words” … hehehe!! It’s exciting to have a distraction from being so focused on your pregnancy and have such a fun day!! My sister-in-law and I tried to share a house (twice) and tho we love each more for having done so it wasn’t easy on either of us at the time…argh!! Best of luck/wishes on that!

  7. I totally relate to your story! I’m from LA and moved away for college. Got totally homesick and came back to LA. I’m STILL here. Love your blog!! I’ll follow and keep reading. Very funny and honest.

    • I try not to let myself dream of moving home to LA but it doesn’t work. I know a lot of people hate LA but I am with you…LOVE IT!!!

  8. I’m from a town called Lima, Ohio & went to school at Bowling Green in Ohio… so I know exactly where Akron is. My hubs is from Cleveland area too…. I’m trying so hard to imagine going from LA to Akron. Yikes!!!! It’s so encouraging to see how much you overcome! Awesome blog, girl!

    • It was such a culture shock! Plus we moved in October justin time for the snow. I didn’t even own closed toe shoes! Well, I owned one pair of Ugg boots. Man it was tough! I still miss LA….

  9. Dude! Can I tell you how excited I was that SITS was featuring a HUMOR BLOGGER???? Halle-freakin-lujah! I did sketch comedy too and now find myself performing before a 2-1/2 year old who thinks I’m brilliant. My best audience, actually. Can’t wait to explore your site…

    • I feel like we need to get together and perform crazy wild sketches for our mini-comedians. I’m poking around your blog now, and Chiccos? is a constant joke over here.
p.s. I purchased you some jewelry from Brighton to go with it.

  10. Hip hip HOORAY for you and your SITS day! You know how much I already lurve and adore you and your blog. So happy to have been around in Minky land for a long time. Enjoy your Queen for a Day status. Now I’m off to look at your commercials, ’cause THAT’S fun!

  11. I’m gonna love you and I don’t even know you…AMAZING!
Three things in common….dark brown hair, mother to a son (I have 4 – you have 1 so far at this writing) AND you lived in Ohio (poor me – I still do!)

Can’t wait to learn from you!

    • You rock it out in Ohio? Where? My love and prayers to you. I kid…the people in Akron were SO nice and a lot of my husband’s family lives in Ohio. BUt it is not for me. And if I never hear the words “Lake Effect Snow” again it will be too soon!

  12. Congratulations on your SITS day. Bed rest sucks … I had 18 days of it with my first pregnancy. The only good thing about it was that we got cable TV for the first time. Okay, it was 31 years ago, but I still remember.

  13. Happy Happy SITS Day!

Living with my inlaws? Pregnant? (Heck, Not Pregnant!) Would not work–it’s so cool that it does for y’all!

I’m off to watch your commercials! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • When we lived in LA we lived walking distance to one and the minute my OB said I could go out after The Boss was born, guess where we took him? Straight to target! You’re a lucky gal to live across the street! It’s heaven…
