in my little town

This weekend my father in law issued me a photo challenge. You know me, challenge ACCEPTED! The Venue: Eastern Market. I love Eastern Market, if you come to visit I’ll take you there. Great cheese, flowers, artisan jewelry…just about everything you could ever want. Including fresh handmade pop tarts.

I’m sorry, did you get that? FRESH HANDMADE POP TARTS.  The end.

Eastern Market was a great place to work on getting to know my new 60D, and pine for new 55mm lens. Photography ain’t cheap and I always have the ‘I wants” for something! Now I shall subject you to my pictures:

So you see, if you come to DC I can promise you a good time. And if Eastern Market isn’t your thing I can at least hook you up with some snugs from this dude:

Those snuggles are worth the trip alone, I promise.

  1. seriously, awesome pics! and your little guy? so squishy and snuggly looking. i vote both – a trip to eastern market and snuggles with your huckie.

  2. We were at Eastern Market maybe two weekends ago when I had to force my 11-year-old away from the handmade jewelry. We did have the most delicious watermelon, though. When we were first shacking up/living in sin/humping whilst unmarried, my husband and would go every weekend (we lived in a tiny one bedroom just a few blocks down). Now that we’re across the bridge we go less often, but we still go, even if we have no intention to buy (yet we always find something to buy. It ain’t hard).

The photos are gorgeous, especially of that huggable dude at the end.

  3. when i lived in d.c., i lived just two blocks from there. right there. and my dog, gatsby, was well-known and would make himself quite comfortable in many of the food stalls because, well, he was a dog and wanted the extras. ahem. there were some days i would have to walk over and fetch him from the market even though it wasn’t even open. silly dog. i need to come visit. more for the huckleberry and boss and you, but maybe for the market, too. xo
